The theme "Wildlife" is often presented by WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile team in its various activities. This time, with the Panda Mobile truck, the theme was again raised in the "Expo Satwaliar: Get Closer to Wildlife" organized by the Satwaliar Profession Association of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) on Sunday (25/09). Located in the courtyard of IPB's Graha Widya Wisuda Building, the Panda Mobile truck was invited to deliver conservation messages to elementary school students attending the event.
There were two elementary schools that participated in the Panda Mobile activity that day. They were 3rd and 4th grade students from SD Carang Pulang and SD Cangkrang. The activity began with an introduction to WWF-Indonesia and then continued with an introduction to wildlife. One of the Panda Mobile volunteers showed some shadow pictures of animals and asked the students the name of the animals. After they successfully answered, the volunteers explained about the animal's habitat, threats, and its current condition.
The students were also introduced to turtles and orangutans through a game of cricket. After playing, they were entertained with a story by Kak Iyan about forest guards. The hope is that the students will have a concern to help protect the forest which is the original habitat (home) for wildlife.
Not only elementary school students, students who attended the event were also interested in seeing the appearance of the Panda Mobile truck. They asked many questions to Panda Mobile volunteers about the various activities carried out by Panda Mobile. Some of them were also interested in joining Panda Mobile and asked how to join. They want to be part of the effort to spread the positive virus of environmental conservation to the public.
