ABOUT THE PARTNERSHIP
WWF-Indonesia and HSBC have built a strong partnership over the past two decades, working together to support environmental conservation and community resilience across Indonesia. Through the NEWtrees program, they restore critical forest areas in the Ciliwung River Basin by engaging communities to plant endemic trees, while tracking growth and carbon storage with geotagging and Jejak.in. In West Java, the Sustainable Coffee initiative empowers farmers with training in sustainable practices, post-harvest management, and financial literacy, while also promoting coffee education and ecotourism. The Freshwater Program, launched in 2018, focuses on revitalizing the Koto Panjang Water Catchment through land restoration, hydropower system improvement, and environmental education. Across all programs, the partnership promotes long-term sustainability, community empowerment, and ecosystem protection.
