WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile again educates students about the importance of clean water for life. Not only for human life, but also for the life of all creatures living on earth. The water education activity was carried out in collaboration with PT PALYJA on Friday (14/10) at SDN 07 Petamburan, West Jakarta.
The Panda Mobile team started the activity by giving an explanation about WWF-Indonesia to the students and teachers at SDN 07 Petamburan. Then they were invited to watch the movie "Sungai untuk Semua" and "Save Water". The movie "Sungai untuk Semua" tells the story of the water cycle and clean water environment in one of WWF's sites, namely in Rimbang Baling, Riau. From the movie, the students got an insight that the existence of rivers also plays an important role in the conservation of Sumatran tigers.
They watched the movie with great enthusiasm. Many questions were raised by the students. The most asked thing was how the people in Rimbang Baling were able to keep their environment clean and the water could be used for daily activities. They also reflected on the conditions seen in the movie with the condition of the river near SDN 07 Petamburan. The theme of clean water and its cycle is indeed an interesting topic to discuss because Jakarta has a lot of rivers. However, there are many rivers in Jakarta that are polluted.
Furthermore, the Panda Mobile team invited the students to see the water quality testing process using the water lab facility owned by Panda Mobile. They were invited to test to determine the nature of water using litmus paper and PH Meter. Both methods were used in front of the students to test three water samples to determine whether they were acidic, alkaline, or neutral.
Knowledge about water was also increased by looking at the various information in the teaching pictures brought by the Panda Mobile team. The props explained several things about water, ranging from the water cycle, existing ecosystems, facts about water on earth, and species directly related to water.
