Educating children to love the environment and animals from an early age will make them have a good and friendly treatment of nature and animals. In addition, this method can form a positive personality so that one day they can help protect and love this earth.
This is what WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile did last Thursday (10/13) at Petra School Kindergarten. The Panda Mobile team began the activity by introducing WWF-Indonesia to the students through an explanation of the umbrella animal species protected by WWF-Indonesia, including Sumatran tigers, elephants, orangutans, turtles, and whale sharks. They were then divided into three groups.
The first group watched a movie on the Panda Mobile truck. The movies were "Tiger Hunter", "The World is Where Live", and "Animal Planet". Panda Mobile volunteers then retold the message of the movie to make it more understandable to the children. The volunteers also asked some questions about the animals protected by WWF-Indonesia and reminded the students to always protect and love the environment and animals.
At the same time, group two conducted activities in the water laboratory owned by Panda Mobile. The students were taught and introduced to the water they consume daily. On this occasion, they tried to test the water with a microscope and see the content of microorganisms in it. With the help of Panda Mobile volunteers, the students tested three types of water taken from around the school. One of the water samples was fish pond water. After being viewed using a microscope, the fish pond water was found to contain bacteria. The children also looked very enthusiastic when they saw litmus paper put into three water samples suddenly changed color and one of them did not change color.
In addition to the water lab activity, the students played games of Sumatran tiger and orangutan. They were invited to play cricket while getting to know the life and role of these animals in nature.
