By: Primayunta
The city of Bogor has won the title of The Most Lovable City or the favorite city chosen by netizens in the global campaign We Love Cities 2016. Bogor outperformed 45 other cities in 20 countries that participated in this social media popularity event. With this title, Bogor has proven its ability to mobilize public support for sustainable urban development.
In order to appreciate the title, We Love Bogor team and Earth Hour (EH) Bogor Community will hold "We Love Bogor Festival" which will be held on November 26-27, 2016. The "We Love Bogor Festival" will be filled with various activities related to the uniqueness of the city of Bogor as well as arts and cultural performances.
Panda Mobile together with We Love Bogor and EH Bogor collaborated to conduct a roadshow by creating a series of activities before the "We Love Bogor Festival" took place. The series of events was carried out by conducting auditions and environmental education in schools, especially SMA / SMK in Bogor City for a week (October 10-14, 2016). These schools include SMA Plus YPHB, SMA Negeri 1, SMA PGRI 1, MAN (Madrasah Aliyah Negeri) 2, and SMA Taruna Indiga. The selected schools will participate and fill the event in "We Love Bogor Festival"
Auditions related to the performances that will be featured at the "We Love Bogor Festival" are conducted by the We Love Bogor team. Panda Mobile and EH Bogor will conduct environmental education related to the surrounding environment and energy efficiency. By recognizing the surrounding environment, we can know how much it benefits the lives of living things in a sustainable manner. This is the theme carried by Panda Mobile when conducting education to schools.
"This event is not just a celebration related to the awarding of Bogor's title as the most favorite city, but it is also expected to be carried out in a sustainable manner," said Renny Widyanti, EH Bogor Coordinator. The same thing was also expressed by Bimo Aulia Rasyid, Deputy Chief Executive of We Love Bogor Festival, at the roadshow event at SMA PGRI 1, Bogor. Primayunta from WWF-Indonesia gave a message on the importance of protecting the environment. "Protecting the environment by starting from ourselves is a fixed price and must be started immediately from now on to maintain a better environment," he explained.
