Graduating in 2013 from UNDIP Marine Science, Tutus began his introduction to the world of coastal and marine conservation when he joined the Teluk Awur Mangrove Ecosystem Study Group (KeSEMaT) and the Marine Diving Club (MDC) on campus. He started his career in 2013 as a reef fish monitoring expert at Reef Check Indonesia. Then, at the end of 2013, he joined WWF-Indonesia as a Monitoring and Surveillance Officer Solor - Alor. Tutus is in charge of monitoring and surveillance of coastal and marine resources.
In 2015, Tutus' career continued as Community Right Based Management Officer for Lesser Sunda. Tutus is in charge of assisting and escorting indigenous communities to carry out sustainable management of coastal and marine resources based on local wisdom (ICCAs). In addition, he also serves as a representative officer in Alor to ensure that WWF-Indonesia's programs run in synergy with the local government of Alor Regency.
In the Koon Expedition, Tutus acted as a reef fish monitoring researcher and observed the behavior of fish that indicated spawning..
