Veronica Louhenapessy, or commonly called Vero, graduated with a Bachelor of Marine Science and Technology from Bogor Agricultural University in 2013. In 2012, Vero started her career as an assistant in the Maritime Science and Technology Training Course program at IPB in collaboration with DAAD. Then in February to June 2014, joined as GIS Assistant for WWF-Indonesia Participatory Mapping, Inner Banda Arc Project.
In 2015, Vero rejoined WWF-Indonesia as Community Right Based Management Officer in the Inner Banda Arc Sub-seascape (IBAS) region. Starting in 2016, Vero served as Responsible Marine Tourism Officer, still in the same region. Vero is responsible for the development of community-based tourism, as well as ensuring the principles of responsible and sustainable tourism are adopted by communities, governments and tourism actors in the Maluku region.
In this Koon Expedition, Vero also played a role in collecting data on the Regional Suitability Index (IKW) to see the potential of diving tourism in Koon waters.
