BUMI PANDA CLOSURE
It's been almost three years since Bumi Panda, an environmental information center managed by WWF-Indonesia, arrived in Bandung. Precisely, since January 24, 2014, the building in the form of a house located on Jl. Geusan Ulun No. 3 Dago, Bandung has become a means to interact with WWF-Indonesia Supporters, school children, and the wider community who want to get to know more closely and support the activities of WWF-Indonesia.
For almost three years, Bumi Panda has been visited by more than 5,000 people, hosted 20 conservation discussions and 47 community discussions, and collaborated with 35 institutions & corporations in various events in the interest of nature conservation. To further spread the message of conservation, Bumi Panda also visits schools, from kindergartens to universities. There are more than 198 educational institutions that have interacted with Bumi Panda.
WWF-Indonesia realizes that the presence of Bumi Panda is not limited to the presence of the building. Bumi Panda is a means to get closer to WWF Supporters and the public through educational activities that are dynamic and not fixed to one place. Therefore, as one of the efficiency measures in providing conservation messages to the public, WWF-Indonesia decided to close Bumi Panda's operations at Jl. Geusan Ulun No. 3 Dago, Bandung.
This closure is effective on December 31, 2016. After Bumi Panda stops operating, all activities in the building will be eliminated. Likewise, all parties who have been doing activities at Bumi Panda (volunteers and fundraisers), will not be doing activities at Jl. Geusan Ulun No. 3 anymore.
However, environmental education activities by WWF-Indonesia in Pasundan land will still continue even though Bumi Panda is no longer operating. All forms of cooperation on environmental education can still be submitted via email to: [email protected] or [email protected]. Information about WWF-Indonesia's conservation activities and programs can be found on the website wwf.id or through WWF-Indonesia's Contact Center at 021-5761070.
Thank you to all those who have been cooperating with Bumi Panda for the sake of conservation. We apologize if there are still shortcomings in delivering conservation messages.
