Tiela, a Bachelor of Biology from University of Indonesia, Jakarta, started her career at WWF-Indonesia in 2011 as a Marine Liaison Officer.

In 2014, Tiela started to take responsibility as WWF-Indonesia's Marine Science and Knowledge Management Officer who plays a role in managing the science related to Marine Protected Areas, including supporting the provision of literature needed by colleagues in the field and providing training for staff capacity building to support the achievement of organizational targets. She also ensures that the data collected is well documented and stored on WWF-Indonesia's website.

In Koon Expedition, Amkieltiela plays a role in collecting data on coral bleaching and is also the coordinator of this activity.
