Hedra Akhrari is a fisheries graduate from Bogor Agricultural University, graduating in 2013. During college, she was active in the FDC IPB diving club and participated in the Zooxhanthellae Expedition activities in Biak (2009) and South Halmahera (2011) as a reef fish data collector. After college in 2013, Hedra was active in activities organized by the Indonesian Coral Reef Foundation (TERANGI), such as Tour Guide Training activities as a coral reef fish introduction material provider in Belitung and Sabang (2013); joined the survey team in coral reef ecosystem monitoring activities in Belitung and Sabang as a coral reef fish data collector (2013); joined the survey team in the monitoring of fish shelter in Kepulauan Seribu as a fish data collector (2015). In 2013, Hedra also played an active role in the Kaimana Regency Coastal Zone and Small Islands Zoning Plan (RZWP3K) activities as a primary oceanographic and reef fish data collector.
Before joining the Koon Expedition, Hedra had joined the Alor Expedition team, East Flores initiated by WWF-Indonesia in 2014 as a large fish data collector. Then on this Koon Expedition, Hedra acted as a science team in charge of taking data on small fish under 35 cm and observing and identifying fish spawning locations or SPAGS.
