Taufik Abdillah graduated from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in 2013 with a special interest in Spatial Conservation. In 2012 - 2013, during his studies Taufik interned at WWF-Indonesia Marine Program under the division of Marine Spatial Planning and Monitoring. In 2014, Taufik joined WWF- Indonesia as a Marine Spatial and Monitoring Officer Inner Banda Arc Sub-seascape (IBAS) based in Kei Kecil Island, Langgur, Southeast Maluku Regency. Taufik is responsible for ensuring regional planning and zoning of coastal conservation areas and small islands in the Inner Banda Arc region, including collecting and processing spatial and non-spatial data, as well as supporting capacity building of human resources in the field of planning and mapping in the Inner Banda Arc region. In addition, Taufik is also responsible for data collection and ecological monitoring to support the availability of ecological data in the Inner Banda Arc Sub-seascape region.

For the Koon Expedition, Taufik's role was to collect benthic data and organize dive schedules.
